News: Ph.D. students Christopher (CJ) Bott and Jordy Cheyem Lopez-García both recently defended their Theses and are on their way to postdocs at Brigham Young and Notre Dame, respectively. I was recently elected as a member of the 2025 class of Fellows of the SIAM, and as a member of the 2024 class of Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Read her husband Colm's trubute to her. Research Interests: Numerical algebraic geometry, applications of algebraic geometry, algebraic geometry in spectral theory, real algebraic geometry, algebraic combinatorics, Hopf Algebras, Discrete and Computational Geometry, tropical geometry. I am one of the corresponding editors for the SIAM Journal on Applied Algebra and Geometry.   I am an Associate Editor for the American Mathematical Monthly, the Arnold Mathematical Journal, and the Journal of the Foundations of Computational Mathematics. My terms as associate editor for the SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, the Canadian Journal of Mathematics, and the Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, ended in December 2015. I am a former member of the American Institute of Mathematics open textbooks initiative editorial board, and a suporter of their work.
