Real Oddities

We all  have an intuitive  familiarity with the real  numbers, as
they are  used to measure  time, space, and any  other continuous
quantity.  Indeed, the  real numbers are a  foundation for higher
mathematics (e.g. Calculus) and  its applications.  As such, they
warrant a  more careful  study, which reveals  some paradoxically
odd aspects of this otherwise familiar object.

In this discussion, we will explore  some of these odd, but basic
aspects  of the  real numbers  including the  Cantor Set  and the
Devil's Staircase.
