| Location: | Ground floor of Blocker Building |
| Parking: | Northside Garage, 104 Ireland St., across from the Blocker Building. Pay for your spot before leaving garage. $40 fine for not paying. |
| Hotel: | The Mathematics Department will book and pay (through our NSF grant) for hotel rooms for elligible participants
at a nearby hotel.
You must register for the meeting and be elligible for funding (Student or faculty at a US-based Institution) for the grant to be able to
pay for your hotel. Speakers will stay at a different hotel. |
| Restaurants: | There are many restaurants in Century Square (between Blocker and the Hampton Inn). Other restaurants are located along University Avenue (the wide road running along the North side of Campus) west of the Blocker Building. |
| Snacks and meals: | The Mathematics Department and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will provide a break room with refreshments and snacks for the participants. There will also be a dinner provided to participants on Friday between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM, and a conference dinner on Saturday. |
| Posters: | There will be a poster session and reception Saturday.
A prize will be awarded to the best poster as decided by a jury. Poster size is 36 inches by 48 inches (91.4 × 122 cm). A list of presenters, titles, and abstracts are found on the posters page. |
| By Air: | The most convenient airport is
Easterwood (CLL), which is located on the Texas A&M Campus.
Easterwood is served by American Airlines through Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). Another option is to fly into Houston (IAH or HOU) or Austin (AUS). There is a regular shuttle service from IAH (Ground Shuttle—which must be reserved in advance), and the only option for Austin is to hire a car. If you choose to drive from these other airports, we hope that you can car pool with someone. |
| Driving: | From Houston or Austin, the drive to College Station will take less than two hours.
From Dallas, it takes about three hours. We should be able to reimburse driving (via mileage), but do ask that participants car pool. |
Funding |
TAGS 2024 is supported by an NSF grant DMS-2349244: Texas Algebraic Geometry Symposium 2024–2027, and the Department of Mathematics and the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University. Limited funding will be available to cover lodging in College Station during the conference. Priority will be given to students and postdocs. Participants must register to be able to apply for funding. It is possible there will be funds available to support some travel and meals, and you are encouraged to enquire with the lead organizer, Frank Sottile. |
